AE101 20V Silvertop Dashboard Wiring + AE111 4AFE Engine

This is a weird case, the owner have a silvertop 4AGE 20V in his car and want to swap it with 4AFE engine from a local AE111 Corolla. Most people want to upgrade but to 20V but this guy is the other way round,so i took up the task to graft his wiring.
Stock AE111 4AFE wiring.

Stock 4AGE 20v Silvertop wiring

This is a mess...separating the ecu wiring from the AE111 engine harness

More mess....

Finished product...AE111 4AFE ecu wiring+AE101 engine harness and fusebox.

Toyota AE86 4AG 20v + Adaptronic e420d ecu

A customer would like to replace the old 4AG 16v engine in his AE86 with a newer 4AG 20v,but as the 20v is from a front wheel drive Levin/Trueno,when it being fitted to rear wheel drive format, the distributor will hit the firewall, there are 3 solutions to this, which is knocking the firewall for the distributor to clear, make a distributor relocation kit or use a Standalone engine management system to convert the ignition system form distributor to wasted spark or direct fire (individual coils).

A better alternative is the third option which is using a standalone engine management system.R.N.R Autosport have suggested the owner to go for direct fire coil on plug ignition system. In this case the coil used is from Nissan SR20 S15 Silvia.ECU of choice is the Adaptronic e420d.This little ecu is packed of features for its relatively cheap price.
Coil harness fabrication
Here is the finished custom made harness, all wires are soldered and shrinked wrap the entire loom.

From another angle

Fitted on the engine, the wiring literally hidden.

Another view

Another angle from top

Put the car up on the Dyno Dynamics Chassis Dynamometer

The result of the conversion. The engine is totally stock standard except for extractor, coil on plug converision and the custom made trumpets.A good result considering its a RWD car which has a higher transmission losses, not to mention this is tuned on RON 95 petrol. The fuel consumption is greatly decreased, more than 14km/L on highways (as reported by the owner). Ecu running flawlessly everytime,no matter cold or hot start.

Congrats to the owner,a rare classics,AE86 is a gem. This project is will not end here, the owner has a few more plans for his baby.So watch out this blog guys.Thanks.

AE92 + 4AG 20V Blacktop Wiring Conversion

Another project of marrying both stock wiring (AE92 with 2E carburetor) with 4AGE 20V Blacktop engine from AE111 Levin. The owner of this car does not want to install full AE111 4AG 20v wire harness (engine bay+instrument panel) because to retain the stock look of his car interior. Installing the full harness (engine bay+instrument panel harness) from the halfcut will make it more diffcult to graft into the stock wiring without mounting the AE111 dashboard,and mounting the dashboard will make the car look awkward. So the owner choose to leave the dashboard stock.

The stock 2E engine harness being stripped and separated, taking only necessary wires to be used onto the 20v engine.

4AG 20V wiring being stripped and labelled, what is not used is being cut and removed.

ECU during test start up,will be mounted under the dashboard.

Engine installed in the car and up and running. The wiring harness look totally stock factory item.

Silvertop to Blacktop (conversion no.17)

Another Silvertop to blacktop conversion,it was out of the blue so i forgot to bring my camera along,it was an SEG AE101 with silvertop engine, having problems with idling and such, a quick check discovered that the ECU is leaking a capacitor. Owner takes this opportunity to remove the airflow meter and convert to blacktop system.Conversion done in 2 days due to my day job constraint (1 day if on public holidays)..
