Honda Civic EG + B16A Turbo kit + E-manage

A revisit to the VTEC turbo B16A from previous post. The engine have been completed and the owner have finished running in his engine, now its tuning time.

This engine runs on stock ecu and E-manage blue with Greddy Pressure sensor.Mechanicals by Garage Daz and tuning by R.N.R Autosport.

 Top fuel turbo kit.

Final figure, boost is 0.45bar.This turbo kit have very good response, due to small sized turbo.Fuel is RON97

4AGE 20V + E-manage Mini

Another customer comes into wanted to install E-manage to his 4AGE 20V,this time we installed new mini e-manage blue.Good thing is it comes with USB connection which is a lot faster and stable, also friendly with newer laptops.

AE101 SEG + 4AG 20V Blacktop + E-manage

Another AE101 SEG with Blacktop 20V and E-manage Blue (Actually it is EM-CON by M7).His engine is equipped with the usual bolt on goodies, trumpets and a Tomei Pon-Cam 256-264deg.

Good result there.Impressed with the cams, really bump the torque significantly to 160Nm (117lb/ft), almost 10Nm increase over stock engine with stock cam.I reckon with a standalone ecu it will be better overall and trim that torque dip above 6000rpm.

Well, there is always a room for improvement.

Corolla SEG AE101 Blacktop 20V Auto + E-manage tuning

A friend introduced me to a toyota seg owner who wants to tune his e-manage.This is my first time dyno tune an auto 20v,it is quite difficult as it need delicate control of the throttle in order to maintain the car in particular gear, hence it is hard to get consistency on every runs.

None the less, the base run made is quite good and it is very hard for me to squeeze the every bit of extra power and torque.I got it after almost 30 runs, but there is a strange torque dip at 3500 up to 4500,i spend another 47 runs just to tuneout the dip but after using all tricks up my sleeve, still couldnt get it to better.I guessing this is something that can only be resolved on the street,as this car is auto transmission, and dyno loading can't simulate some of the load the gearbox experienced on the actual road driving conditions.

The AFR lean out just at that moment,i'm thinking it caused by vvt switching on.Something we couldnt see on dyno,a further street tuning should resolve the issue. However, there is an increase on torque right after 4500 up all the way to redline,is much flatter.Peak HP increase is quite minimal and happens a bit later than previous, but it still climbing up until 7600rpm,almost at the rev cut and shift point for the autobox.

I want to review this back and find ways to improve the torque curve and AFR lean out issue at low rpm, will be fine tuning on the road. But anyway, owner now happy with current performance.

E-manage Plug and Play harness + OTR tuning..

A friend of mine ask me to make a plug and play harness for his Blacktop 4AG.
He supplied the jumper harness and the e-manage main+ignition harness

Finished Plug and play harness...

Plug and play means you dont need to cut the factory wiring, and installation and removal is quick.Plug it in the car and we went for a tune on the road with wideband O2..
